MT June 2020: FoodTech highligts sustainable water in the food industry at IFC Water Congress
Ensure a sustainable water programme with the experiences from Arla, Carlsberg and Coca Cola
The programme for IFC Water Congress offers the latest knowledge to the food industry about water efficiency. Join the congress 30 September – 1 October, if your company needs a dedicated water strategy – and be a part of FoodTech at the same time.
30 September and 1 October 2020 the 2nd IFC Water Congress will take place in MCH Messecenter Herning in Denmark together with FoodTech and International Food Contest. The title of the congress is “Water in the Food Industry” and covers the sustainability agenda that the food industry as well as the rest of the world is facing today. Since water becomes a more and more scarce resource, many food companies try to find smart water systems with a limited water use, which is closely connected to reuse and recycling. The programme will equip the audience to reflect upon the water use in their company.
The Programme Committee behind consists of representatives from the Danish food industry, supplier companies and scientific institutions. Jørn Rasmussen, Director in Water Advice and with a long career in water management, is appointed to be the moderator of the two-day long congress.
- I think the Programme Committee has succeeded with a very ambitious programme that is relevant for the food companies first and foremost, but also for technology providers. I believe that the mix of leading food companies such as Arla Foods, Carlsberg and Coca Cola versus leading water technology providers and international scientist will take the audience through the most relevant issues related to sustainable water use, Jørn Rasmussen says.
The congress is built up around the theme Water Efficiency – reduce – reuse – recycle with focus on new water technology aspects for the food industry and applied technology as well as case studies. The congress is divided into 3 thematic areas with presentations dealing with:
- Water stewardship
- Water efficiency in operation
- Water reuse in operation - barriers and opportunities
The congress will provide a platform to exchange knowledge and experiences between the food & beverage industry and water experts.
